Shared Emotion

Now I know I don't know you,

but I'm sure I've seen your ghosts.

I'm sure I've shared your worries.

Easily distinguishable, lack of bounce,

the downward tug on red edge.

Bridges burnt, ties severed,

leaving me and you and us,

trapped off at all sides.

Yet amongst the synonymous tide,

the death of individualism,

is a welcome relief

in our shared loneliness.
